A shot of the worlds tallest building the Burj Khalifa just as the sun sets, showing off the deep orange glow. Taken just as we got of the new Dubai Metro.
Found this strange angle when walking through the car park of the Dubai Mall just as i arrived the water spray started and wet me a bit so I got out the camera and waited until the water jets were just right, as you will see it was pretty hot that day and the sun has just caught the tops of the water lighting them up a wee bit, not intentional but adds to it I think.
Well it only took about 10 seconds or so to get 124 floors up in this the worlds tallest building The Burj Khalifa. What an experience not only the ride up but walking out onto the deck, looking down was not too bad but looking upwards made me a bit dizzy for a second. quite a clear day so lots to see although lots of smog too. Found this image with the shadow of the building which I thought was qiute interesting, hope you like !!!!
Looking out the other way you get more of the city and it’s concentration of tall buildings although compared to the Burj khalifa they all look pretty small.
Each night there is a water display between the Burj khalifa and The Address Hotel, apparently it happens every hour with a musical accompaniment, its a must see if you go to Dubai.
One of my favourites from this trip, all the beautiful colours especially the sun setting behind the skyscrappers, this it the same place where the water displays happen and it is surrounded by hotels and places to eat.
I hope you like this image as much as I do.
Can not forget that the only reason that I was able to be in Dubai in January was to work, above are the cameras we were using. Some days there were two 10 x 8 cameras with Del on one and me as back up, other days I had the 5×4 to back up on as the groups were not as large. Lots of fun was had with a trip to Abu Dhabi and the new F1 curciut at Yas Marina Island.
